As a matter of fact, last month I have been discussing with flat earthers (on serbo-croatian language) and few days ago one of them actually told me that we cannot explain Solar eclipse since the Sun rays are parallel. So I decided to check it. With a high-school trigonometry I have found that the maximum angle between a Sun rays (that are falling on Sun) is about 0.5 degree. I use a same angle analyzing Solar eclipse (since the change in distance is negligible) and I put a Moon in Perigee and calculated that umbra of Moon on Earth should be about 156 km long. After that I compare this result with picture of shadow of Moon above a Mexico, and it is a good match. Video clip is in Croatian language, but if you want to check it, you do not need to listen a voice, since every step in calculation is shown: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kh0tMNtCvd0

Anyhow, I would just like to say that you blog is very good and I hope that you will, perhaps, open a youtube channel also, so you could reach wider audience.
